Who we are
ABC Rounds (abcrounds.com) is an online question bank for Saudi Board exam preparation. ABC Rounds is responsible for the personal data described here, as the data controller under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). You can reach us at any time through the Contact us page.
What we collect
- Account details: your first and last name, email address, mobile number and specialty. Your password is stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form that nobody can read, including us.
- Study data: your answers, exams, timers, flagged questions and the notes you write when you report a question. The words you highlight in an exam are saved to your account so they appear on every device you use; only you can see them.
- Subscription and payment details: which exams you can use and until when. When you pay online, we keep a record of the order (the exam and length you chose, the amount, any coupon code, the date, whether the payment succeeded and Moyasar’s payment reference). Your card details are entered in the payment form of our payment provider, Moyasar, and go directly to Moyasar; they never reach or stay with ABC Rounds.
- Security data: your IP address, your device and browser type, and the times you sign in or try to sign in.
- Messages: what you send through the Contact us form (your name, email, mobile number, and for access requests the exam, length, coupon code and training level; for other topics your message).
We do not collect sensitive data such as health, religious or financial records. Please never include patient information in a question report or a message.
How we collect it
You give us your details when you create an account, use the Contact us form or report a question. Study and security data are recorded automatically while you use ABC Rounds.
Why we use it
- to create and run your account and give you the exams in your subscription;
- to save your progress and show your results;
- to show, after a question is answered, what share of all students chose each option (totals only, never names or who chose what; shown once at least 5 students have answered);
- to keep accounts secure: a code by email when you sign in, one device at a time, blocking repeated wrong passwords and finding accounts that are shared;
- to reply to your messages and fix the questions you report;
- to send emails about your account and subscription (for example password reset links, access confirmations and a reminder before your access ends). We do not send advertising emails;
- to improve our questions and the site.
We use your data because it is needed to provide the service you signed up for, to keep it secure, or with your consent where the law requires it.
Cookies and browser storage
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in (it lasts up to 30 days). Your browser also saves small settings on your own device, such as dark mode, the question bank you last used, your highlights and crossed-out options, and a copy of your progress. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run ABC Rounds:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and its database and protects it from attacks;
- Resend, which sends our emails;
- Google Workspace, which hosts our support mailbox;
- Moyasar (Moyasar Payments, Riyadh, licensed by the Saudi Central Bank), our payment provider, which takes your card payment when you pay online. Moyasar receives your card details, the amount, the order reference and your IP address, and tells us only whether the payment succeeded.
They may use your data only to provide their service to us. We may also share data when the law requires it, for example with a Saudi authority.
Where it is stored
Our providers’ servers may be located outside Saudi Arabia (for example, Cloudflare runs a worldwide network and Resend sends our emails from Japan). By using ABC Rounds, your data may be transferred to and stored in these countries, with the protections described below.
How long we keep it
- Account, study and subscription data: while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account (through Contact us), we delete your name, mobile number, password, answers, exams, flags, highlights and messages, and send one last email to confirm it. Payment and subscription records are kept without your name or email, as the law requires, and your answers stay only in the anonymous “% of students who chose each answer” statistics, with no link to you.
- When you reset a question bank, your answers, flags and exams there are removed; a copy is kept for 30 days in case you ask us to undo it, then deleted. Your highlights in those exams are deleted at once.
- Sign-in sessions: up to 30 days.
- Records of sign-in attempts: 24 hours.
- Records of website errors: 30 days. They contain no personal data.
- Records of sign-ins on another device: 30 days.
- Password reset links: they stop working after 1 hour.
- Sign-in codes sent by email: they stop working after 10 minutes.
- Messages and question reports: as long as needed to answer them and fix the questions.
How we protect it
All traffic to ABC Rounds is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only in hashed form, reset links work once, and only ABC Rounds administrators can see account details. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe. If a data breach affects your information, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law you have the right to:
- know how your personal data is used (this page);
- get a copy of your personal data;
- correct or update your personal data;
- ask us to delete your personal data when it is no longer needed;
- withdraw your consent, where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights (for example, to have your account deleted), send a request through the Contact us page. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).
Age
ABC Rounds is for doctors and medical trainees. It is not intended for anyone under 18.
